WLCCDT is led by a dedicated board of trustees who volunteer their time and expertise to serve our communities in West Linton and Carlops.
Our Trustees

Simon Hodge
Chair
Simon has lived in West Linton for over 20 years. Now retired, Simon is a qualified forester and has been involved with land management, renewables and community forestry.

George Archibald
Trustee
George moved to West Linton in 2021, having previously lived and worked in Midlothian for most of his life. A varied and extensive business background includes sales and marketing roles with different blue chip companies, helping run a successful family business (Pentland Hygiene Services) for ten years, and most recently running a Chamber of Commerce and a renewables business (Bright Green Hydrogen). Now semi-retired, he remains on the Boards of these companies.

Guy Walters
Trustee
Guy and his wife Hannah moved to Carlops in 1993, where they have brought up two boys through the West Linton and Peebles Schools. They have both been on and off the Carlops Community Council, or the Carlops Village Centre Management Committee, since they moved to Carlops. As a chartered Landscape Architect Guy has been instrumental in a number of local landscape projects and is the lead on planning responses on behalf of Carlops Community Council. Guy is the CCC rep on the Board of Directors for the Community Development Trust.

Lindsay Mann
Trustee
Lindsay has lived in West Linton since 1993 and brought up her family here. She has worked with children all her life and ran Pentlands Activity Camps for 20 years. As a current member of West Linton Community Council she is the WLCC rep on the Board of Directors for the Community Development Trust.

Tim Crick
Trustee
Tim has lived in West Linton with his wife Kirsty and their family since 1994. He worked in marketing in Financial Services before setting up and running a small consultancy. He has led the West Linton Community Heat Team since 2022 and is a founding director of West Linton and Carlops Community Development Trust.

Community Right to Buy Achievement
WLCCDT successfully exercised Scotland's Community Right to Buy legislation to acquire and manage community assets for public benefit, demonstrating our commitment to long-term community ownership and sustainable local development.
